CSS
Went for a walk in the zen garden today. What a great site and it helps you to understand the potential that css has on website design.
After last night’s lecture I looked up the resources for the lecture and investigated floating and delved into this site http://css.maxdesign.com.au/floatutorial, which is great for step-by-step ways of floating images for a thumbnail gallery and for next and back buttons which will help me for my project. What I liked about this site was how it would outline the html code and css code in one place, so you could see how they related to each other.
Then found this website http://friendlybit.com/css/beginners-guide-to-css-and-standards/ as a great introductory guide into how css works and the definitions of selectors – element, class and id. I wanted to understand how these worked in css and feel that I am beginning to really understand how css is used and its potential. It has great flexibility, which the zen garden also showed me.
I think I now need to actually experiment with css in the web developer tool and start to make some css files so I can understand better how I can use this for my final project.
