Open Source Culture Foundation

About the Open Source Culture Foundation

The Foundation was created with the goal of popularising artistic activity and culture in Poland; support for art criticism; and encouragement of active participation in cultural projects and events. OSCF fulfills its objectives through promoting the development of cultural magazines, offering support for cultural initiatives undertaken by publishers and editorial offices, publishing and co-publishing of magazines, books and Internet vortals and providing training and financial support. Through its Journal Showcase project (http://witryna.czasopism.pl), the OSCF helps editorial offices of low-print social and cultural magazines to publish their material online. The Foundation supports new technical solutions that reduce costs of production and distribution of both printed and electronic versions of cultural magazines. OSCF also supports the development of Open Source software for creating an online environment for cultural periodicals.
