Finding number of images that are not hidden on the second page on document ready.

Hi, I have created two pages, one has a link to the second that has some images on. I want to be able to hide images on the second page when the document is first shown and then when the button on the first page is pressed return the number of images that are not hidden - in this case two?

Can I do this as I am stumped.

Your Fiddle doesn't have any images - use one of the image placeholder sites.

Do it the same way you hid them!

$('#resultsBox img').eq(2).css("display","block");

I don't know what you mean by "return" the number of images that are not hidden. To count the number of images that are hidden, loop through all of the images, and check the value of .css('display').

Thanks for the reply. What I mean is to find the number that have images that have the css property display:block.

To count the number of images that are hidden, loop through all of the images, and check the value of .css('display').

But it would be easier if you don't use .css(), which I try to almost never use. It is almost always better to add/remove CSS classes rather than add/remove CSS directly to the node(s).

Instead add a CSS class, say, .image-hidden. Write a bit of CSS:

.image-hidden { display: none; }

Now you can easily count the quantity hidden:

$('#resultsBox .image-hidden).length

or not hidden:

$('#resultsBox :not(.image-hidden)').length

To hide or unhide, add or remove the .image-hidden class.
