Yes, I would assume that we would be able to standardize the way we pass coordinates much faster than we can get spinner into trunk.  New plugins can land in trunk any time before the first beta.

No, it hasn't been worked on at all and will not hold up any releases.  It will be added whenever it's ready.</div>

Are there any plans for the event updates to be included so jQUI works
correctly with the iPhone?

We've standardized how you pass coordinates to plugins and are now using the position plugin in dialog.  We're aiming for 1.8a1 early next week.  If you have any bug fixes you'd like to land in trunk before the release, you've only got a few days.
