Are you attempting to remove the visibility rule in order to show the select
element? If so, this should work for you:
$("#edit-taxonomy-6").css("visibility","visible");
What's going on here is pretty basic. First, we grab the select element via
its ID attribute[1], then we edit its CSS entries (the style attribute)[2] and
set the visibility as desired.
