i havent tried using the datepicker yet, but i do know you need to
nest your
$('#date').datepicker();
inside of a function... the function being the part of the programming
that calls the script so it works....
something probably like...
<script type="text/javascript" >
$(document).ready(function()
{
$('#date').datepicker();
});
</script>
at least syntax-wise
also i'd nest this in your header, not in the body
