All fixed - thanks heaps to everyone for all your help. For those who
were curious, the offending line from my css (which as it turns out I
don't actually need) was
.treeMenuDefault a{font-weight:normal;font-size:11px;}
So I just got rid of it and no more trails!!!
Scott - it's a shame you don't have to be my first client after all :)
