An Invitation to Start A Working Group
Want to collaborate with open advocates across the movement to do something like solve a problem, create a resource, or discuss best practices? We are spinning up a lightweight process for supporting Ad Hoc Groups.
Step 1: Consider what you’re interested in working on!
To start, think about:
Topic / Problem: What are we trying to explore or fix?
Why now?: Urgency or opportunity
Expected outcome: E.g. guide, event, research summary, prototype
Timeframe: E.g. 4–8 weeks
Point person(s): 1–2 coordinators
As an example, imagine you lead a CC chapter and you’re having a hard time finding new members. You could convene an ad-hoc working group with other chapters (perhaps some who also have a hard time with this and others who do it well) to discuss strategies. Then you could share your findings with the border community.
Step 2: Gauge Interest
Let folks know in Zulip! Reach out to your local communities! Who is interested in working with you on this? Consider what the ideal size of a group to work on your project might be.
Step 3: Let us know!
