Multiplayer simulation extension
TruckersMP operates as a third-party multiplayer modification for Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator, enabling real-time synchronization of player-controlled vehicles within shared online servers. The mod functions as a standalone client that interfaces with the base games’ executable files.
TruckersMP replaces the native single-player session flow with server-controlled instances where traffic, player movement, and world states are continuously synchronized. It requires a supported version of the original games to be installed and verified before connection. The modification does not alter core simulation mechanics but layers networked session handling, identity management, and rule enforcement systems over the existing game logic.
TruckersMP maintains parallel compatibility with Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator by mapping both titles to a shared multiplayer framework. While each game retains its original economic models, map layouts, and vehicle sets, the mod standardizes player interaction rules, synchronization intervals, and collision handling across both environments. The mod detects the active title at launch and applies the corresponding asset mappings while preserving a consistent multiplayer ruleset across both simulations.
Virtual convoy
It introduces multiple network-dependent systems that operate independently of the base games’ offline logic. These include an in-game text chat interface, CB radio voice communication, a player listing panel, and administrative visibility tools. A dedicated scout vehicle category is also implemented, using predefined parameters distinct from standard trucks. Multiplayer events are hosted as scheduled server configurations, temporarily modifying traffic density, spawn behavior, and access permissions without altering local game files.
It applies centralized rule enforcement through server-side moderation tools rather than client-side restrictions. Administrators and moderators can remove players from active sessions or apply account-level sanctions based on observed rule violations. These actions are executed externally from the game engine and do not rely on in-game prompts or warnings. Because moderation decisions are enforced at the server level, removals can occur without local context or automated explanation within the client.
Stability in every mile
TruckersMP operates within a controlled compatibility scope and restricts unsupported third-party modifications during multiplayer sessions. While integration with large-scale map expansions such as ProMods is supported under specific conditions, most gameplay-altering mods are disabled to maintain synchronization stability. Version alignment between the base game, supported map packs, and the client is mandatory, as mismatches prevent server connection. As a result, multiplayer sessions function within a constrained mod environment where consistency is favored over customization flexibility.
Pros
- Server-based multiplayer architecture
- Dual-title compatibility framework
- Integrated communication subsystems
- Controlled mod environment
Cons
- Limited transparency in moderation actions
