The current "How to use the widget factory" article doesn't cover inheritance or extensions.

@scottgonzalez do you have a blog post or similar that could be used as a starting point?

Nothing with the new syntax. @ajpiano's widget factory presentation was updated by @gnarf37 with the new syntax though.
