> [@LeaVerou](https://github.com/LeaVerou) the polls you've linked to (and also the current version of `stripes`) assume a very specific use case. I am curious as to whether that is the use case/design people actually try to achieve, and what would be the portability between that and gradients. That is not accidental: having a black and a white border was literally the driving use case behind the current design (which came from the a11y folks). There are always niche use cases, but the vast majority of use cases for multiple outlines/borders involve 2-3 solid colors. People are generally _not_ trying to draw concentric rectangle gradients with their borders (when they do want gradient borders, it’s a completely different type of gradient, that is better achieved in other ways). -- GitHub Notification of comment by LeaVerou Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13044#issuecomment-3482492974 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
