If we want to utilize border-style better, perhaps it can be border-style:stroke that takes those new stroke-* properties and strokes the border also when it's a box or a two-path border shape. In the single border-shape variant it would take the border-width like today by default, and switch to the border-stroke-width property when the style is stroke. I think this has trade offs though.
