Postcard featuring a photograph of Samuel Wild in army uniform

Samuel Wild married Elsie Kerr in 1906. Elsie was the older sister of Australian swimming star Beatrice Kerr. Samuel enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force about two months before the armistice, however he was discharged before he saw active service. During WW2 Samuel Wild died of illness onboard MV DUNTROON as a member of the Merchant Navy.
