Australian troops at Garden Island Wharf ready for embarkation
Australian soldiers are depicted at Wharf 2, Garden Island ready for embarkation. Wharf 7, Woolloomooloo Bay can be seen opposite the soldiers. The moustached man standing near the right hand side of the photograph is possibly Colonel Gustave Mario Ramaciotti who was heavily involved in the mobilization of troops in Sydney.
This photo is part of the Australian National Maritime Museum’s Samuel J. Hood Studio collection. Sam Hood (1872-1953) was a Sydney photographer with a passion for ships.
