The children's Christmas party debate

These photographs come from the museum's Samuel J Hood collection. They depict a Christmas party which was hosted annually for the children of officer's of the Royal Australian Navy. It is unclear exactly when these photographs were taken. Was it December 1930 or 1931? Were they taken on board HMAS AUSTRALIA II or CANBERRA?
