Located on M Street in Georgetown this house was built in 1765, making it the oldest standing building in the District of Columbia. The house was built by Christopher Layman, a cabinetmaker by trade, and served both as residence and shop. in 1953 the house was purchased by the US Government and operates today as a National Park site
