Statue of Frederick the Great, by Joseph Uphues in 1899, was a gift from Kaiser Wilhelm II to President Theodore Roosevelt in 1904. It was placed at the Army War College (now known as Fort McNair). During World War I and II it was removed from public view due to threats to destroy it. In 1954 it was moved to Carlisle Barracks in Pennsylvania
