Sarah Brody with her cousin Sam Axelrod.

Sarah Brody with her cousin Sam Axelrod, who was in the Jewish Brigade of the British Army after the war in Brussels.

"He told stories about the Jewish Brigade in Italy using British Army trucks and putting refugees on ships to Palestine. Sarah was in Germany, and asked for leave to meet Sam in Brussels. The British weren't happy with the Jewish Brigade in Italy, so they sent them to Brussels. She had never met her cousin Sam Axelrod before because his family moved to Palestine in the 1920's."
