Inspection: Institute Aeronautical Science Group
One of the exhibits for the Inspection by the Institute of Aeronautical Science Group in 1946 was this JUMO 004 Jet Engine with cover removed. The eight-stage axial flow compressor of this Junkers Jumo 004 that had been brought back from Germany after World War II can clearly be seen in this display at the Aircraft Engine Research Laboratory of the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), Cleveland, Ohio, now known as John H. Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field.
