Progress M1-10 Docking Port
This close-up view of the docking port of the unpiloted Progress supply vehicle (Progress M1-10) was taken by one of the Expedition 7 crewmembers onboard the International Space Station (ISS) as the spacecraft departed from the Pirs Docking Compartment at 3:42 p.m. (EDT) on September 4, 2003. The spacecraft had been launched on June 8, 2003, and had been docked to the ISS since June 11.
Its mission to the Space Station complete, Progress M1-10 would remain in orbit for another month as part of a Russian scientific experiment. It was dedeorbited with its load of trash and unneeded equipment and burn in the Earth’s atmosphere on October 3, 2003.
