The three Apollo 14 astronauts arrive at the White Room atop Pad A, Launch Complex 39, at NASA's Kennedy Space Center during the Apollo 14 prelaunch countdown. Apollo 14, with Alan B. Shepard Jr., commander; Stuart A. Roosa, command module pilot; and Edgar D. Mitchell, lunar module pilot, aboard was launched at 4:03:02 p.m. (EST) on January 31, 1971, on a lunar landing mission.
