"The Falcon is on the Plain at Hadley"

Astronauts David R. Scott and James B. Irwin landed Falcon, the Apollo 15 lunar module (LM), on the Moon on July 30, 1971. To begin their three-day stay in the Moon's Hadley-Apennine region, Scott performed the first and only stand-up EVA through the top hatch of the LM, getting a clear view of their surroundings.

In this frame from a panoramic series of photos Scott took, Bennett Hill is visible on the horizon and a portion of the top of the LM is in the foreground.
