William H. Dana: First NASA Employee
Description: On the day that NACA (National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics) became NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), William H. Dana reported to work as an engineer at the High-Speed Flight Station as the first NASA employee at the Center. He transferred to the pilot's office less than a year later and would go on to fly lifting bodies and the X-15, to name a few of the projects for which he was a pilot.
