16-Foot High-Speed Tunnel
This drawing shows how the 16-Foot High-Speed Tunnel’s original sting mount functioned to adjust pitch while keeping the model centered in the test section. The gearmotor at the bottom moved the left bar, and the upper lever moved the right bar a greater distance in the same direction, causing the sting to rotate and change angle. Since the model was directly under the upper lever’s fulcrum, it rotated in place.
