12-Inch Supersonic Wind Tunnel

This air dryer could remove up to 4,000 pounds of moisture per hour for as long as four hours between reactivations. It contained 400,000 pounds of activated-alumina desiccant that could be reactivated by heating it for 10 – 12 hours. This dryer also served the 20-inch Supersonic Wind Tunnel after it opened in 1951.
