Calendar left open in reactor building

This calendar, left open in the Plum Brook reactor building just days before the reactor's final closure, remained untouched for almost 30 years. Despite their disappointment at the shutdown of their facility, Plum Brook employees worked diligently for the next six months to put the reactor into protective safe storage. They hoped that this mothballing procedure would allow the reactor to be reactivated at a future date when research could again be funded.
