For this black goatskin binding, the upper and lower covers are gold tooled to a fanfare design, the central oval compartment containing one of the nine armorial devices of Alexander H. Turnbull. There are gold tooled edges and turn-ins, and blue silk doublures (the insides of the covers). Binder’s stamp: Bound by Zaehnsdorf 1907.
