About fifteen years later, this pamphlet reflects a trend for Japonaiserie at the time. It advertises goods for Christmas, some imported from America, Japan and the East, and is illustrated with Japanese woodcuts of fans, curtains, women in traditional dress.

 

It is printed on Japanese paper, possibly even printed in Japan, and. The Evening post of 16 December 1901 advertised “D.I.C. Christmas Show... toys and presents; Old Father Christmas, Daily, at 3 p.m.... 10,000 new toys useful and amusing, at the D. I. C.”
