Cars & bikes - S H Head

A collection of images of car and motorcycle displays, and a shot of a motorcycle rally on New Brighton beach, Christchurch, by photographer Samuel Heath Head (d.1948). More photographs of trucks, cars and motorcycles from the 1920s will be added to this set throughout 2009.

We have little information about Samuel Heath Head; a collection of 642 original negatives by Head were donated to the Alexander Turnbull Library in 1948 by a Miss Head.
