Bizen Ware

Image Description from historic lecture booklet: "In Bizen ware figures of mythical beings and animals as well as birds, fishes, etc., were modeled with a degree of plastic ability that can scarcely be spoken of in too high terms.

The Bizen kiln attained a great excellence at the end of the 14th century and the beginning of the 15th century. Japanese pottery is named usually from the province where manufactured. Such is Bizen ware. There are about 15 districts well known for their pottery."
