Arthur Peck came to Oregon Agricultural College in 1908, serving as a Professor of Landscape Architecture until his retirement in 1948. This collection is a sampling of images from his teaching library, a wonderfully eclectic set of 24 boxes of glass lantern slides. Not only are these images valuable from an educational standpoint -- yes, you can learn a lot about landscape and architecture by looking through them -- they also showcase Peck's "design" eye.

This eye for design served Peck well in his companion post at OAC as the chair of the Fine Arts Department and as the man credited with bringing Landscape Architecture to the Western U.S.
