Brig. Gen. Blake C. Ortner, Virginia National Guard land component commander, and Soldiers from the Virginia National Guard supported the T.C. Williams High School football game against West Potomac High School, Sat., Nov. 9, 2013. The inaugural “MaxPreps Rivalry Series presented by the National Guard” features key rivalries in the Northeast, Mid Atlantic and Southeast whose communities rally together with week-long festivities before the game. The winning team, T.C. Williams, received the inaugural Army National Guard Rivalry trophy which features the Minuteman statue and will be engraved with the final game score and updated each year to be displayed at the winning team’s school. “Personally this week has been great with a lot of activity going on and buzz about the playoffs,” said Dennis Randolph, T.C. Williams High School head coach. “It’s been great for community and our school.” (Photo by SSG Lalita Laksbergs, 29th Infantry Division Public Affairs)
