Virginia Army National Guard recognizes top units
Virginia Deputy Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security Adam K. Thiel presents the Eisenhower Trophy to Lt. Col. Tim Pillion, commander of the 1030th Transportation Battalion, on behalf of the Gate City-based Headquarters Company, 1030th Transportation Battalion, 329th Regional Support Group, as the top company-level unit in the Virginia Army National Guard during the Virginia National Guard Officer’s Association Conference March 29, 2014, in Williamsburg. Thiel and Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, recognized the top performing company level units in the Virginia Army National Guard with the Adjutant General's Cup, Virginia Excellence in Training Awards, National Guard Bureau Superior Unit Awards and Pershing Trophy. Capt. Kyle Duffer, a training officer in the Virginia Army National Guard state training and operations office, assisted with the presentations.
