Virginia warrant officer recognized for community service

Chief Warrant Officer 4 Mary Thomas, a Virginia Army National Guard property book officer at the Blackstone-based Maneuver Training Center receives a Presidential Volunteer Service Award March 28, 2014, at Fort Lee, Va. Thomas earned a Bronze Level award, for completing more than 100 hours of community services. Thomas said she started volunteering in order to get her twin boys, age 16, involved in their community in order to inspire in them a life-long commitment to serving their communities.
