Officer candidates conduct urban ops training

Soldiers from Officer Candidate School Class 56 conduct training on Army Warrior Tasks and Battle Drills associated with urban operations April 12, 2014, at Fort Pickett. Senior noncommissioned officers from the Fort Pickett-based 3rd Battalion, 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute, provide instruction and feedback as the officer candidates learn basic skills associated with entering a building and clearing a room . Ten candidates are in the final phases of their quest to become second lieutenants in the U. S. Army and will conduct a multi-day field training exercise in May and those Soldiers who complete the rigorous course will commission in July.
