Virginia's fallen honored and remembered at Commonwealth's Memorial Day Ceremony

Virginia National Guard Soldiers who gave their lives in service to the United States of America are remembered along with other fallen Virginians at the 2014 Commonwealth’s Memorial Day Ceremony May 26, 2014, at the Virginia War Memorial in Richmond. Va. The names of six Virginians added to the Wall of Honor were read during the ceremony, joining 290 fellow citizens of the commonwealth, including Virginia National Guard Soldiers lost to hostile enemy action since September 11, 2001. Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., the Adjutant General of Virginia, and his wife Diane placed the Commonwealth of Virginia memorial wreath at the Eternal Flame in the Shrine of Memory, and Brig. Gen.
