Former AG recognized for 50 years of military service

Current and former state government officials join family, friends and fellow National Guard members in recognizing retired Maj. Gen. Daniel E. Long, Jr., for more than 50 years of military service July 2, 2014, in Richmond, Va. Long most recently served as the Adjutant General of Virginia from July 14, 2010, to May 31, 2014. Governor Terry McAullife, Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security Brian Moran and Judge Marla Graff Decker, former secretary of public safety, thanked Long for his service as the Adjutant General, and Senator Bryce Reeves and Delegate Richard Anderson presented Long with Senate Joint Resolution No. 120 commending his many years of uniformed service. Gen. Frank J. Grass, the 27th Chief of National Guard Bureau, presented Long with the National Guard Distinguished Service Award.
