Lake, commander, 1st Battalion, 111th Field Artillery, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team presents the Order of Saint Barbara medallions to eight inductees July 12, 2014, at the Norfolk Naval Station, Norfolk, Va. Named for the patron saint of the artillery who protects Soldiers from fires and sudden death, the Order of Saint Barbara recognizes members in good standing who have demonstrated the highest standards of integrity and moral character, displayed an outstanding degree of professional competence, served the U.S. Army Field Artillery with selflessness and contributed to the promotion of the Field Artillery in ways that stand out in the eyes of the seniors, subordinates and peers of the recipient.
