200th Weather Flight supports first responders at RIR

Airmen from the Virginia Air National Guard’s Sandston-based 200th Weather Flight provide weather briefings and situational awareness for approximately 1, 200 Richmond area first responders covering the NASCAR race Sept. 6, 2014, at Richmond International Raceway. The briefings for the firefighters, EMTs and police officers included information regarding potential dangerous weather including lightening, high winds, and extreme heat indexes, which could occur during the event.
