116th BSTB hosts Fredericksburg Military Affairs Council

Soldiers from the Fredericksburg-based 116th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team host members of the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council Sept. 16, 2014. State Senator Bryce Reeves, co-chair of the Virginia General Assembly Military Caucus as well as the Senate representative on the Virginia Military Advisory Council to the Governor and a member of the Commission on Military Installations and Defense Activities, provided an update on recent legislative activities pertaining to military and veterans in Virginia. Soldiers from the 116th BSTB provided static displays demonstrating some of the capabilities of the battalion's units including an unmanned aerial vehicle, military police equipment and vehicles as well as individual Soldier weapons. The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Council promotes and supports the business interests of the region as it pertains to the defense industry and the military and serves as the liaison between the defense and civilian communities.
