Va., West Va. Guard Soldier, NCO win Region II Best Warrior Competition.
Spc. Adam Sotelo, of the Virginia National Guard’s 3rd Battalion, 116th Infantry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, and Sgt. Robert Cunningham, of the West Virginia National Guard's 119th Engineer Company (Sapper), are announced as the winners of the 2015 Region II Best Warrior Competition May 31, 2015, at Fort Pickett, Va. Sotelo, from Arlington, Va., beat out five other Soldiers to earn the spot as the region’s best Soldier, while Cunningham competed against five noncommissioned officers to win the spot as the top NCO in the region. Army National Guard Soldiers from Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. competed in the three -day competition for a chance to compete at the national competition, to be held in June in Utah.
