Region II Best Warrior Competition tests Soldiers, NCOs at Fort Pickett

Army National Guard Soldiers from five states and Washington, D.C. test on Army Warrior Tasks on day two of the Region II Best Warrior Competition May 30, 2015, at Fort Pickett, Va. The Virginia National Guard hosted this year’s competition, which included a Soldier and noncommissioned officer from Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., for a total of 12 candidates. The competition spans three days and tests Soldiers and NCOs on mental and physical prowess, and includes an Army Physical Fitness Test, a six mile road march, weapons qualification, several Army Warrior Tasks and requires competitors to answer questions before a board of senior NCOs. The winning Soldier and NCO from the regional competition will advance to the national competition, representing their region against the best competitors in the nation.
