Fallen public safety officers honored at memorial rededication

Nine Virginians who gave their lives in the line of duty where honored for their courage and sacrifice at the rededication of the Commonwealth Public Safety Memorial Nov. 6, 2015, in Richmond, Va. Governor Terry. McAuliffe officiated the ceremony, Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security Brian Moran read the names added to the memorial and Virginia National Guard Soldiers from the Funeral Honors Team provided a rifle salute. Thirty-two Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen were remembered among 870 Virginia public safety officers who died in the line of duty at the dedication of the Commonwealth Public Safety Memorial Dec. 6, 2014.
