Deploying Soldiers train with Asymmetric Warfare Group

Soldiers of the Staunton-based 116th Military Engagement Team train with Soldiers from the Fort Meade-based Asymmetric Warfare Group Jan. 9-10, 2016, at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, in preparation for their upcoming deployment. AWG personnel presented an introductory brief on the capabilities and purpose of their unit and a tour of their training facility before providing the 116th MET Soldiers with insight into what they can expect during their deployment. Soldiers of the 116th MET also received training on personnel and vehicle recovery techniques, which included hands-on experience building an emergency preparedness kit for a vehicle, creating makeshift vehicle belts and addressing common vehicular malfunctions. The 116th MET plans to begin training fro their deployment in February and will conduct military-to-military engagements with partners in U.S. Army Central Command’s area of responsibility including Kuwait, Jordan, Oman and Tajikistan.
