116th IBCT Soldiers clear blocked road in Va. Beach

Virginia National Guard Soldiers assigned to the Portsmouth-based 2nd Squadron, 183rd Cavalry Regiment, 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team clear a road blocked by a fallen tree Oct. 10, 2016, in Virginia Beach, Virginia. More than 160 Virginia National Guard Soldiers started serving on state active duty Oct. 9 in the wake of Hurricane Matthew and assisted multiple localities in the Hampton Roads area with debris reduction, evacuating citizens seeking shelter and transporting law enforcement officers on route assessments to identify road hazards.
