Va. Guard receives award for supporting veteran employment

Commissioner of the Virginia Department of Veterans Services John L. Newby, II, and Virginia Senator Bryce E. Reeves and Delegate Richard L. Anderson, co-chairs of the Virginia General Assembly Veterans and Military Caucus, present the Virginia Values Veterans Commonwealth Award to representatives of the Virginia National Guard Sept. 26, 2016, in Richmond, Virginia. Brig. Gen. Paul F. Griffin, director of the Virginia National Guard Joint Staff, Vickie L. Sais, Virginia National Guard State Family Programs director, and Sgt. 1st Class Justin T. Presson, Yellow Ribbon Program noncommissioned officer in charge, accepted the award. The Commonwealth Award is presented to strategic partners and supporters of the V3 Program, who have made significant contributions to the operation, strategy and mission of the V3 Program. These may be organizations, groups, or individuals who have used their expertise and resources to make Virginia the most Veteran-friendly state in nation to work.
