OCS hosts holiday social, former Ranger shares leadership lessons
The Fort Pickett-based Virginia National Guard Officer Candidate School, 3rd Battalion, 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute hosts a holiday social Dec. 4, 2016, in Blackstone, Virginia. Retired Army Master Sgt. Jim Smith, former Ranger and special operations sniper, shared his views on leadership and military skills with the officer candidates and guests based on his many years of experience as an instructor and also conducting NATO operations and serving in combat.
