Marksmanship excellence recognized following pistol match

Virginia National Guard Soldiers and Airmen receive recognition for marksmanship excellence following the 2017 Adjutant General’s Pistol Match, June 25, 2017, at Fort Pickett, Virginia. For the first time in the event’s history, a team from the Air National Guard took top honors and the state recognized its first female pistol champion as well as its first female recipient of the Governor’s Twenty tab. This year’s event brought together a record 72 shooters from across the state to fire more than 15,000 rounds over 8 courses of fire. The event was hosted by Soldiers of the 183rd Regiment, Regional Training Institute. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. 1st Class Terra C. Gatti)
