Company C, 429th BSB Soldiers conduct medical evacuation training

Combat medics from the Charlottesville-based Company C, 429th Brigade Support Battalion conduct medical evacuation training June 24 at the Fort Pickett urban operations training site. In the training scenario, Soldiers in a convoy are ambushed and sustain injuries that require medical attention, and medics moved forward to provide combat life support to simulated casualties. After being stabilized, the “injured” Soldiers are moved to a collection point for aerial evacuation provided by helicopters from the West Virginia National Guard. The aerial evacuation moved the Soldiers to the company’s Level II medical facility set up at another location on Fort Pickett. (Photo by Maj. Cotton Puryear, Virginia Guard Public Affairs)
