Virginia Army Guard and VDF train on entrance control point procedures

Soldiers from the Virginia National Guard’s Charlottesville-based Company A, 3rd Battalion, 116th Brigade Combat Team and the Charlottesville-based Company C, 13th Battalion, Virginia Defense Force conduct training on entrance control point procedures Aug. 1 in Charlottesville. In the training scenario, the Guard and VDF were supporting local first responders by establishing a security perimeter around an airplane crash site and making sure only authorized personnel were allowed to enter the incident site. Members of the VDF also acted as role players for the training scenario as they operated the vehicles entering the control point. The two units also conducted communications training to assess their ability to communicate using different types of radio systems. (Photo by Maj. Cotton Puryear, Virginia Guard Public Affairs)
